Oshawa Gives Back

As the holiday season approaches, there are some amazing people in the City of Oshawa that spend a lot of their time and energy to help those less fortunate. Whether it’s providing a Christmas for those that go without, or even deeper, providing the basic necessities that help those less fortunate get through the cold winter months. We have reached out to 4 local charities and would like to assist them with their efforts this year with a donation and hopefully some much needed exposure.

Here’s the plan: We’ve invited the DRPA’s Food and Toy drive, Simcoe Hall Settlement House, Feed the Need and Durham Outlook to join us at Chris and Beth’s No Frills on Simcoe St N, at 8am Thursday morning. We are going to give each of the charities a shopping cart to fill with the items they are most in need of this time of year. We will then pay for their cart and top them up with an additional donation. While we are doing this, we’d like to broadcast the event live through our Facebook channel and spend a few minutes with each charity to find out a little about their organization, who they reach out to, and what items they really need this time of year. Our goal is to get our friends, family members and customers to assist us in spreading the word about the important work that these organizations do this time of year.

Here’s where you can help: We’d really like to get the word out, and we’d really like to help these organizations hit or exceed their goals for this season. Please help us by sharing our live Facebook feed on Thursday morning, and please help us by using the hashtag #oshawagivesback as we start to create awareness for this event on Thursday morning. There will be a number of photos taken as well as an edited version of the video that we will be hosting on our Website, Youtube and Facebook that we would really like to get out to our community. Every share counts!
