Next week Cadillac will unveil the highly anticipated redesign of the 2014 Cadillac CTS at the New York Auto Show. Cadillac has just unveiled a 3.6L TWIN TURBO v6 which will be available in the redesign of the 2014 CADILLAC CTS.
While General Motors continues to produce a multitude of environmentally savvy vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt, Spark EV, and Malibu with E-Assist, in stark contrast a new 7.0L naturally-aspirated V8 for the 2014 model year Chevrolet Camaro was also announced. Its great to see they surely haven’t forgotten their high performance muscle car roots.
The Twin Turbo v6 will harness the power of 420 horses, cranking out 430 lb-ft of torque. This 3.6L Twin Turbo v6 also marks the most power-dense six cylinder in its segment at 118 hp/liter. The closest competition in its segment will be the BMW 55i’s TwinPower 4.4L V-8 rated at 400 horsepower or 91 hp/L, considerably less power-dense than the Cadillac twin turbo v6. By pairing the engine up with an EIGHT SPEED paddle shift automatic transmission, this will ensure the 2014 Cadillac CTS provides incredibly competitive fuel economy ratings.
The new engine offered in the 2014 XTS; Cadillacs full size luxury sedan this fall. We patiently await the official unveil of the 2014 Cadillac CTS, and will have full details of the Auto Show next week.
