The 2008 Saturn Astra was originally branded as the Vauxhaul Astra in the UK and Debuted in North America at the Chicago Auto Show in 2007 as the intended replacement for the Saturn Ion. The Astra was available in both 3 door and 5 door configurations with a fuel efficient 1.8litre 138horse power 4 cylinder engine. The Astra was available in the XE and XR models and received a Good Over-all score from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

With the demise of the Saturn brand, the Astra was replaced in the GM line-up by the Chevrolet Cruze in 2011 but represents a quality pre-owned option for drivers lookig for an ecomical compact car with cargo and passenger options.
