Unreal! On paper the 7th generation 2014 Corvette had the makings to be legendary, and now the rubber has met the road and the performance results are outstanding! With all the speed and power, we can’t overlook the visuals! It looks incredible too! The C7 does the zero to 60 mph dash in a mere 3.8 seconds. That puts it .4 seconds faster than the old Corvette and just .1 seconds slower than the outgoing Z06.
What does that mean exactly: Taking into consideration that the C7 2014 Stingray is a “base” model…The base C6 2013 Corvette did it in 4.2, the Grand Sport did it in 3.95, and the hi-powered Z06 — which started at $75,600 — did it in 3.7. The zero to 60 time for this new base model car is nothing short of amazing.
It gets even better! Wait, Chevrolet has unveiled additional specs on the new ‘Vette, specifically when it’s equipped with the Z51 Performance Package and magnetic ride control.
With those options the Stingray does the quarter mile in 12 seconds at 119 mph, brakes from 60 mph to zero in 107 feet, and created up to 1.03 G in cornering.
Not bad at all considering this car costs… just $56,590. If that’s not the best bang for your buck when it comes to high-po sports cars I don’t know what is!
Taking all these stats into account, we can’t wait to see the Z06 and ZR1 editions!
